Re: New foil kite in a hail storm

If you tether on the chicken loop on the side of the wind window is there any way to land safely? What method?

Re: Hello all help with rigging wipika air blast

Never launch any of the older C kites hooked in. You are just asking for a good spanking.

Re: How to fall correctly?

The main thing is to sheet out on the bar or let go of it completely to depower the kite so that you don't get dragged.

Re: Shimming a tuttle box

I used to cut up an aluminum beverage can to shim my fin boxes in my windsurfing days. Just be careful with the sharp edges.

Re: Dont try new things at the end of a session

When we are tired both mentally and physically we are prone to make mistakes. Save the end of the session for some easy riding. I usually know it's time to come in when I miss a transition.

Re: Ebay dispute

My two xbows have lost the rubber coating on the tips. The rubber breaks down from exposure to the sun, salt, etc. I never dragged the kites on the wingtips. I thought about recoating but don't know what to use. Definitely does not affect the performance of the kite at all.

Re: Do you need to rinse kites?

I only rinse the bridle pulleys to get any salt and sand out so they run smoothly.

Re: What makes a jump drop fast?

Riding in gusty, high wind conditions with a small kite can be a challenge. You may jump and midair the wind drops enough so that you have a hard landing. A small kite is way more sensitive to wind fluctuations than a larger kite, especially for larger riders.
