Certainly would NOT recommend - all my 4 Core bars lost it after a few sessions. Got some heavy duty sticky velcro from HomeDepot - stays forever.

Is Max really waterproof enough to use it for kitesurfing without an additional case ? the auto leveling is impressive..

but that resolution limit (lack of 4-5k) may end up being the dealbreaker on the gopro max for me.

It won't be able to do it properly for full rotations. At least not in 1080p. Maybe in 720. But for 1080 it would need an 5.7k capable sensor , and GoPro did not upgrade the internals on the Go Pro 8.
