Re: Hydrofoil Videos

I wish they included a clip of him getting up on that small board, must be quite a feat of paddle power and balance!

Re: How critical is line length?

19m is on the shorter side but not overly so. You will have a slightly more responsive kite and a bit less time during your power stroke. I would pick up a set of 4 or 5m extensions to improve your low end on the 12m, however the 12 will fly fine without them. Maybe someone else here as a different ...

Re: Laminating cedar to hold rocker

Makes sense, I'll stick with two layers then as I am not using a vac bag.

Re: Laminating cedar to hold rocker

Thanks for the info BWD, I will stick with two layers of cedar for my next build to keep the rocker table design easy after reading that that downunder has tried a single layer and it didn't work out. Trying to save a bit of time and stress during the glue up, but I would rather have a bit of a thic...

Laminating cedar to hold rocker

Hey guys, My last build was a foil board using two layers of cedar strips laminated on a make-shift rocker table. The rocker held really well with very little springback. I suspect the glue between the strips would be enough to hold the rocker in a single layer lamination, but anyone tried and can c...

Re: Alternatives to Dwarfcraft 42" board

I can only speak personally for LP's foils being great, but their Maverick boards look like they would be really good. Peter puts an incredible amount of engineering into everything that comes out of his shop and the build quality is quite amazing. Two size options that are both on the small side. h...

Hydrofoil Lessons on Vancouver Island

Hey Guys, This summer I will be providing hydrofoil lessons and was hoping to get some feedback. The lessons are zodiac supported and offered in four hour blocks or packaged as an adventure tour for travellers. Compared to kitesurfing lessons/tours there has been very little interest in hydrofoiling...

Re: Suggestions for a wave/foil kite in one?

I am looking forward to trying the HF on short lines now! The flite is a great kite on the foil as well, my friend Todd edited together some drone footage of me on a 10 flite: https://vimeo.com/201390493 Was riding my 7m Prodigy until I switched to the 10m to get drone footage. It was windy enough t...

Re: Suggestions for a wave/foil kite in one?

Interesting regarding the 14m lines Frank... I will have to try that out. Are you having to rig a size larger and riding more powered? I really like the feeling of having just enough power to start which seems to give me more usable range out of the kite when riding. On the same page as you with kit...
