Re: Importance of foil weight/float

A floaty board with a heavy foil is a PITA to strappless water start. I have a manta and I ride it in straps because I like to jump but if you like strappless you want a set up that you can roll the board on its side easier. I have tried a double agent and even though the foil/mast isn't super light...

Re: Warmer booties trick

We're now down into the zero to 4 degrees C range for both water and air temps. I hate cold feet and hands, and I think I accidentally found a trick to keep my feet warmer with the same booties. My old cold water (7 mm) booties were about worn out, and I was using them in the warmer weather as foot...

Ideal line length

Yesterday I built a bar for foiling that has 26m lines. Untill now I have only used 22m lines for foiling and I have 7m extensions. On the light days would I be better to use the 22m with extensions, the 26 as is or the 26 with extensions? The 2 kites I will be using them with are my 14m prodigy and...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

My words as tautologies say. If anybody buys obvious copied designs, it is not done "to test it for the comunity" but just to safe money for himself while supporting and creating an at least immoral industry. What those say to the designers is: "I like your design, but I just take it and wont pay y...

Re: Dear old Nobile 666 and 555

Good friday Kiteforum members :D I would like to ask your honest opinion about the "meaningfulness" (give me the word) of buying a very old (but in brand new condition) Nobile 666 board or alternatively a Nobile 555 model. Am I crazy or would be worth it (I mean about the quality of the board, its ...

Re: When it's windy....

As a newbie I only foil in lite winds. Once the wind picks up enough to jump on my 12 mtr I'm on my twintip.Seems like foiling for me at this point is similar to when I started kiting,a lite wind alternative to windsurfing.I'm sure it will evolve as I gain experience.although in my mind I would at ...

Or 25 water and 50 air for example. Ice skating perhaps.

Re: Winter wetsuit recommendations

Not looking for a wetsuit vs drysuit discussion here. Looking for the warmest wetsuit period. I kite and SUP more than prone surfing anymore so warmth would be my priority over flexibility. And I do it in sub 75 degree Fahrenheit combined air/water. Any recommendations on what to buy and from where...

Re: What are best wetsuits for winter windy extreme conditions?

Drysuit only for me. Always warm, coming, going and on the water, never cold. Drysuits can be sketchy when far from shore. If there is a rip in the suit you will quickly get cold and have a hard time swimming. I use a 6/5 with a wetsuit Hoodie. If you want the most of your winter session there is a...

Re: How to Self Launch Using Your Car

You guys must have some serious depower and super stable kites, pretty sure if I tied any of mine to my car in a usable windrange it'd do something stupid and rip the bumper off. I also really don't like the idea of a solidly tied kite without control, if it swept across the horizon it would do meg...
