Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

My mainstays Twin Lakes and Turqoise Lake are still good. Twin is usually straight ice, but the warm weather has created about an inch or two of slush on top of the ice, which is great. It has been super nice kiting in a T-shirt shirt with no gloves because the weather is so good! Turqoise has more ...

Re: Snowkite Video Topic

My first few times snow kiting in and around Leadville Colorado:

Twin Lakes: https://quik.gopro.com/v/JZ5o3taAKt/

Second time on Turqoise Lake: https://quik.gopro.com/v/UqOgm5Kj2e/

Re: Review Flysurfer Peak3. Does Skateboarding have a future?

I started out kiting with a trainer kite and a Ripstik. I liked the Ripstik's short turning radius compared to a skateboard/longboard's turning radius. Re: Utah snowkite kite sizes

If you are an experienced water kiter, I don't think lessons are needed. You already know the safety stuff, and most of it is common sense anyways. Before I got out here to Colorado I only had about 12 hours of water lessons and a couple years of messing around with a skateboard and trainer kite, so...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Water and slush under the snow but on top of 16" of ice is fairly common. Some people even ride with a mini ice scraper to knock it off when it freezes to your board. I'll probably be out on Lake Dillon the Sunday after this one. Thanks for the info! I may be out there on Sunday/Monday too dependin...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Beautiful pictures guys! Noob kiter here... my first time out was on Turqoise Lake last Sunday. I have about 15 hours of water lessons behind me, but it was my first time on snow... alone too. I have a quick question. Before I figured out I could pull on the middle lines then release them to get the...
