Re: Power.

I'm still new to foiling and love the feeling of riding as small a kite as possible. I had a go of a friends 14m Apollo in 10 to 12kts recently and it scared the shizzle out of me. Barely enough wind to keep the kite flying but when up and going on the foil, the apparent wind generated by the effici...

Really nice riding. I enjoyed watching that. I've never seen that move before so it could be new. I liked the hand plant flip you do on the board as well. Very smooth.

Re: Short masts

I'd go for the 28" mast so you have a real point of difference and better shallow water potential. 36" is as long or longer than many manufacturers longest masts. I think my longest Slingshot Hover Glide mast is 35.5".

Re: Groundhog day.

I just had a foil 2 days ago after a 7 week layoff. Straight line foiling felt surprisingly good with only 1 or 2 foil breaches/crashes. Gybes (on water) were pretty patchy but getting better towards the end of the session. Maybe 30% success rate. I have plateaued a bit now with my learning and need...

Re: Total beginner advice

I've learnt to foil on a SS Hover Glide and it has been great. The short mast options offer a real benefit for learning too.

No flanges on this pic :) Only mast looks like a CF. The wings and plate definitely not.... Re: What's your favourite board and why ?

Plus 1 for the Dwarfcraft 54". I've found it great to learn on strapless due to the full deck grip. The slight concave in the deck feels secure and great for control. It feels compact when up and riding but it has the volume needed for easy learning. I feel as though this board will keep me happy as...

Re: How many Hfoilers are in your spot?

Generally it's only me at my most frequent haunt, but occasionally there has been 2 - 3 others out. There are quite a few racers (10-15) who go out at different spots to me. I can often see them training with their foil kites about 1km away but our paths rarely cross. I'm still learning so I stick ...
