Re: Specific grease for Hydrofoil

I also use Duralac. Easily available at any good chandlery, one tube will last a lifetime for your and all your friends foils. It is slightly tacky and dries hard so has a Loctite effect on the thread. Way, way cheaper than Tefgel.

Re: Sonic FR 11 Long Mixer Test

Hi direnc, I adjusted my FR11 to what the line plan says and it would not open the tips at all, probably the same as you experienced. Do a measure of the mixer and bridal combined by pegging the mixer into the ground and measuring the different line lengths at the underside of the middle of the cano...

Re: Do you disassemble your foilboard after each use?

As Kamikuza says " replace all the metric Allen heads with Torx head bolts". If you can get them in A4 Stainless then all the better. You still need to put some Tefgel or similar on them, but they offer a far better connection to unjam a stubborn bolt. Then if you miss the full wash down after a ses...

Re: Flysurfer Sonic FR 15 Meter Tip Fold Problem Solved

Just to clarify guys. I didn’t lengthen z at all. Those are the measurements, compared to A being a Zero, at the underside of the kite at the center cell. I only adjusted the b and c lengths. I put up those measurements as the original poster was also zeroing out their kite to try and make it fly be...

Re: Sonic FR 11 Long Mixer Test

Just to be clear, those measurements are at the bottom skin of the kite, not at the top of the mixer. As it flys well now, I may back off from this flat, stable profile over the next fews uses, until I get to a point where the tips are tucking again. It just flys so differently compared to previousl...

Re: Sonic FR 11 Long Mixer Test

I'm going to have to read that through with a diagram infront of me, several times, to even start to get my head around it!

Re: Sonic FR 11 Long Mixer Test

I have managed to turn my FR11 into a joy to use compared to before. I spent an hour on the beach playing with the mixer adjustments the other day. It has gone from being annoying with tip tucks every time i gybe on my foil to being a really stable kite that i feel able to attempt tacks with, knowin...

Re: Sonic FR 11 Long Mixer Test

I have been doing the same thing with my Second hand FR 11 over the past 2 days as well; just using the A lines though. The worst shrinkage by far was in the mixer, one C Pulleyline was 91.5cm and another 95.5cm instead of 100 and the A Pulleylines were out as well by 7 and 9 cm. I think you can add...

Re: Feedback on 2015 Liquid Force Rocket Fish Foil (not board)

I learnt on one too, up and in some sort of control by session 6. You should replace all the Allen Head bolts with A2 or A4 Torx head bolts; the Allen head bolts that it comes with are made of cheese they are so soft! It will cost a few quid but save you from the frustration of a jammed bolt in the ...

Re: flying foot switch - advice needed

I still ride with two front straps because it makes the foot switch far less complex. I have tried three straps and have hurt myself in a crash so went straight back to two. I pump the foil slightly as i raise the kite, switch feet at the apex of the foil pump and concentrate on getting my hips turn...
