Re: I'll have to change my name now North Kiteboarding is no more..

Great thread. Very interesting to see what kiters obsessed with brands do when you step on their "ant hill".

Always flown Best kites. Loved the designs, but never really cared about who was a Best rider or how cool the logo was. To each his own.

Re: Switch Lineup

What Switch is now? I don't know but it's got to be the first. Good price for other company's designs. Problems: No continuity, no predictability. I'm getting Déjà vu from when Best made the last "waroo" not a "waroo". It ticked lots of people off too. I agree Switch maybe should have changed the n...

Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

I do think elasticity is an issue as you go weaker, but then maybe a benefit for the more relaxed riding as it would smooth out gusts! Rear line stretch will depower the kite in a gust. But it will also reduce response time for sheeting in as those rear lines stretch. And there are 2 kinds of stret...

Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

^ Simple question, what is a jump for you? But I just told you, we, who are using super thin lines would be all dead? Would you really stop Nico (world Champ), before he jumped 10-15m on FS race lines in front of 500 people? Would you? Common, be real and ask yourself that question. Ok. If I saw hi...

Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

I’m surprised you do not see that but just follow what ozone is telling you ( now you are referring FS, so you lowered your standard by 20%, how come?) . That will not lead into a new discoveries and pushing the barriers.... You brought up Flysurfer. And I explained to you that you missed the fact ...

Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

Really quick, and I'll address the rest of your post directed at me later: Do you understand the concept of wear over time vs breaking strength. Specifically the example of 200kg lines worn to 50% of their original strength yield 100kg breaking strength, and 300kg lines worn to 50% of their origina...

Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

The question is simple: how much? The answer is not much more complex - it is variable - depending on body weight, style, and if you crash the kite. And yes, wear starts instantly when you pull the kite out for the first time. The wear curve is also variable and considers factors such as loading, c...

Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

You are again patronizing, however with a bit of 'toned' response, which is slightly better. But still not polite enough. It can be learned, not to worry. In response to??? I am not trying to berate you because I very much appreciate your post. It adds discussion and gives kiters an idea of the men...

Re: Is Wakestyle dead?

Ahhhhh....... We are now down to the d--k measuring, aren't we? Let me make you all feel inadequate. Windsurfing. Most advanced (non-pro's) windsurfers have more skill in their little pinky than all of our pro's entirety combined. So keep talking how hard you work or going on about the "skill" you h...
