Re: choosing twin tip SIZE you give more importance to your weight or how much you are overpowered or underpowered?

but at the moment I was trying to understand, if you have to choose on the exactly same model board(selected on all the spec up) speaking of a freeride twin tip, for the SIZE, you will give priority on the condition (over/under pw) or your weight? or maybe both equal... (make a particular case exam...

Re: choosing twin tip SIZE you give more importance to your weight or how much you are overpowered or underpowered?

You are asking how a watch works. Most of your responses are going to simply be "how to tell time". And here is my explanation of how to tell time. If the wind is very steady, use a smaller board with an overpowered kite. If the wind is gusty/shifty/updrafty, use a smaller kite with a bigger board. ...

Re: Splicing tips?

7/64ths amsteel is a pain to splice and I can't do it with the wire trick alone for long burying/sleeving. I have a bunch of 200lb test Dacron that I use make this work for long splices or sheathing. First, I pull in the 200lb test dacron into the core of the line. Sometimes I use a short "bullet" l...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

So, perhaps back to the topic about the kites after three pages of rambling whether or not onshore riding is waveriding or not. The topic starter is not quite getting much info on what kites to choose... Looks like the bottom line is that onshore vs sideshore was, and still is, DEFINED in windsurfi...

Re: Hydrofoil choice

The LF foil boards are wakesurf boards, not surfboards.... so they will work for waveriding but probably not the best since they don't have much (if any) rocker....... I agree with this in principle. LF boards (Rocket Foil, FoilFish) are way over built. I started using them in surf after breaking a...

.....The closed-cell foil kites, however, will continue to shine!
When I first made the switch from open cell to closed cell, I was amazed at how vastly superior a "good" closed cell kites is in all aspects to "good" inflatables.

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

.....In onshore power is needed on demand to be able to keep up with the wave and you can't have a kite shooting way the fuck upwind into a dead spot where you can't get any reaction out of it. Good drift is good for both but this is where similarities end. So how do the popular wave kites rate in ...

On Shore Wave Kites

Pretty big gap here in my knowledge base about onshore wave kite characteristics. I do lake on-shore wave (no more than 3ftwave, most of the time in less than 1ft of water), and on/side/side-on ocean wave kiting. I have very little off side-off ocean wave experience. And I use the same kite for all ...

Re: Ozone vs Core

I have to say how disappointed I am to many of the responses to my initial query. I thought I was asking a fairly simple question about three kites. I am sorry you are disappointed with responses, and likely you feel disappointed with my responses. My intent is not to discourage you. And I wish you...
