Re: Transitioning from a TT to a Surfboard! What do I need to know?

-No straps, no leash (if you learn with straps you will always have that crutch) This is definitely one point of view. So here we go with the strap fight. Learn to jibe with a high success rate with the straps first. Because it is harder to jibe with straps, you will be able to jibe pretty much aut...

Re: Transitioning from a TT to a Surfboard! What do I need to know?

Anyone else admit to actually liking a TT more than a surf board? I used to love the ride of a TT in the waves. It is fast, you have the best ramps you can get, and there is almost no limit to what you can do when you don't have to jibe. I have moved on from TT's a long time ago and only use a dire...

Re: North fin boxes

I had a 2012? North Whip that I loved. It was super light, until I needed to add glass to the deck to make it stronger, and then later I broke out the fin boxes. North uses (or did that year) some cheap knock off boxes for futures that had no structural support. I think that North's idea was to get ...

Re: Best bankrupt?

If they would just have the kite factory dig out the prints for the 2008-2010 Waroo and sell them for $350; could be number 1 in the industry! Bring out a $99-$150 kite bar... I'm up for a multi point inflation (not one pump) 2011 Best Kahoona with the only tweak being a wider trailing edge like on...

Re: Impending trade war: Tariffs affecting the kite industry?

......Trump’s plan is to empower smaller companies like kite companies that are run more like a family business than big draconian global corporations. It’s GOOD NEWS! Not war news 🙄 ????? Tell that to America's small farmers. No one knows how these things will play out. But "consensus" (longest cu...

Re: Bar Sizing

I know a medium bar may be better like a 48-52cm - but saw a good deal on a 44 fixed length. Advice would be great. Thanks in advance. Small bars are cheap because they are less versatile, but they do fill a niche in that they help slow down the turning of the kite as is desirable for wakestyle. La...

Re: Is directional more fun than door in LW?

...but you cant really do anything on a sector except ride back and forth in a straight line Above is SO not true  Peter is right about this part because of the physics. In clean winds , a freerace board will have more speed and thus generate more apparent wind. Think of it as half (more like...

Re: Is directional more fun than door in LW?

Wind quality is very important to your decision. Clean winds (can be clean winds on inland lakes too) favor building apparent wind with speed. Thus the large fins of a sector can be exploited to your benefit by just getting up to speed and staying there. Only clean winds allow this. Dirty winds at l...

Re: Shorten lines on trainerkite?

I do not recommend doing a teaching session in high winds. And definitely make sure you do not give a 2.5m kite to a person under 55kg (125lbs) in high winds. I had one of my students try to teach his son on a 2.5m in high winds and his son got beat up pretty bad. After that, his son never wanted to...

No, I am not and have never been angered by anything you say. Sweet!....Then a laugh together it is!!! No, sorry, I'm laughing at your aspergers-like misuse of language. Best left like that. Naaaa, give me an explanation and let me know the details of your accusation. Or, if it is simply an insult,...
