Re: Risk vs reward... learning and progression at 40

I'm young and very fit and I barely ride wakestyle anymore even though I used to love it, the whiplash just isn't worth it.

Hundreds of miniature whiplash episodes from wiping out at high speed adds up in the cervical and lumbar spines...

Foiling on Kauai?

I'm heading to Kauai in a couple weeks and bringing my gear, staying on the north shore.

All info seems to suggest the reefs are quite shallow and therefore not conducive to foiling. Anyone done any here or have any info?

Will also be on oahu for a bit and plan to foil kailua

Re: Do I bother to get a 60cm mast?

Re: Drysuit or wetsuit if you anticipate a swim?!

What are the neoprene sweat shirts you are referring to? http://stores.wetsuit.com/exoskin-tops/ are an example and what I use. I always have worried about compromised swimming ability wearing loose fitting garments such as those (or the ion neo jackets, or mystic jackets), is that not a problem? E...

Re: Drysuit or wetsuit if you anticipate a swim?!

We kite in Toronto every month of the year if the water is open and the air above freezing. Floating ice is often a factor. Most have foregone dry suits in favor of Excel 6/5 wet suits and outer layer additional neoprene sweat shirt type over. They are incredible....Toasty warm and no baggy suit th...

Re: Mounting a Foil on an old Twin Tip

I've done it multiple times. The flex sucks but it works. Try and get a real stiff board. If you are beginning then go for something with decent volume/size

Re: Repurpose a airrush choptop for foiling

Shape doesn't really matter that much, if it has enough flotation it will be good to learn on
