Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

Relative to the Chrono V2 the Soul seems to be much better sealed in general, it can sit in the water for a good while and still relaunch fine. The sand in the trailing edge thing with the Chrono is really weird - it just seems to appear for no reason and you can’t see any way it got there!

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

Have you tried the Soul? Having come from a more race-orientated kite I wouldn't call it low performance, the jumping is right up there with higher aspect foils just behaves better for normal riding and seems to have dropped the more annoying characteristics that usually you have to get used to with...

Re: Woo version comparison update?

What does a load of similar sized jumps prove other than the device thinks they are similar (whether they are or not)? I have nothing against these devices, have owned one and would get another potentially. However I’ve compared two and found more than a 100% difference, and it seems the Woo is like...

Re: Woo version comparison update?

The fact that all those jumps are consistently massive makes it already not believable - a series of 10 or more jumps all of which would grace red bull KOTA....hmmmm....

Re: Woo version comparison update?

It's all very well saying relative accuracy is OK but if you're going to have a device telling you something in metres that's what it should be! You wouldn't get a tape measure and say 'well it says 1.5m and it's probably more like a metre or so, but it's accurate relative to itself so no problem'. ...

Re: Who said you can't loop a foil kite?

I'd be interested to hear why people use them in the smaller sizes. I have a Soul as my light wind kite, and in these conditions it's unbeatable - easy solo launch and land (often nobody else out!) and you can start from less than 10 knots even on a TT, great jumping from little more than 10 knots. ...

Re: Wash or not wash your kites

Never washed my kites in my life except if they get dirty. Last set had for 10 years and were still in really good condition, only changed them because I fancied something new. Usually leave them damp in the bag too! Pretty sure the abrasion from regularly washing them would cause faster wear, then ...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Interesting I find the depower at the bar to be better than other foil kites I have used (especially Chrono V2). Also find it flies pretty well when depowered, although the depower at the bar means I find even when well / overpowered it is very much controllable, compared to the Chono V2 which can b...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Are you saying when it's fully powered on the depower strap there is no power and no control? I have not found this at all - in fact I find it behaves very similarly to my LEIs in respect of depower both with bar throw and using the depower strap.
