Re: Fly surfer soul wind range

Similar, skinny git 144 pounds, 133X40 TT 12m Soul gives me a range of 7-20 knots but suspect could hold it down in a bit more. Can be worked like an LEI in lower winds, loop transitions etc really easy, lovely kite to ride. Tempted to get a smaller one for the bigger winds...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Flat water and a 134/40 Lieuwe Shotgun. I’ve never gotten on with light wind twin tips. Not sure if it’s because of my weight but I find that if I have enough to get going a light wind board doesn’t really make much difference, and I don’t like the feel of a bigger board.

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I fly a Soul on an Ozone bar and lines - it's absolutely fine. Slightly different setup in that lines from the bridles have a small metal loop on the end, meaning that you can actually attach either a loop or a knot to them, which is kind of clever but does mean you can put your lines on backwards i...

Re: Lieuwe boards

Interesting I really like the new design and I can easily make sure both of the straps have exactly the same setting / size, plus it never slips or unexpectedly opens, admittedly a rare issue with the last ones. Plus the blue looks nice with a red Lieuwe...

Re: Lieuwe boards

Not that I don’t approve of a little home-made ingenuity but if sand is going to abrade the deck surely it’ll do so by getting underneath whatever is there, whether it’s the pads themselves or your extra layer of neoprene...?? Excellent choice of board and straps though...have you got the latest NTT...

Re: Lieuwe boards

Pads and straps make a huge difference, and the nice thing about Lieuwe boards is you can customise the screw placings. So I have a Shotgun with NTT pads and straps which is the perfect combo for me. I went from a Jaime Pro to a Shotgun and although both are great boards I prefer the overall ride of...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

Relative to the Chrono V2 the Soul seems to be much better sealed in general, it can sit in the water for a good while and still relaunch fine. The sand in the trailing edge thing with the Chrono is really weird - it just seems to appear for no reason and you can’t see any way it got there!

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono, Hyperlink, Soul

Have you tried the Soul? Having come from a more race-orientated kite I wouldn't call it low performance, the jumping is right up there with higher aspect foils just behaves better for normal riding and seems to have dropped the more annoying characteristics that usually you have to get used to with...
