Re: Going from Short Mast to Long mast Advice

.... The discussion about riding the board on the water being a key skill .... its almost irrelevant in my opinion . Then you are riding the foil , not the board ... forget the board already , its just a platform to a stand on . ... I think this is a critical misperception for beginner foilers. The...

Re: Rider weight versus foil classification (wind range)

What is very different is when the Moses 633 Onda set up is on the water, this changes our choice of kite size, I will now choose 1 or 2 kite sizes smaller than I would for the standard wing set up, the massive lift and crazy low stall speed allow this, so because of this people who are not up to t...

Re: Rider weight versus foil classification (wind range)

I don't think rider weight (within reasonable weights) impacts the performance of a foil as much as other factors such as wing aspect ratio, thickness, camber, fuse length, etc. I get your point, but do the shape/set-up factors change that much from large kite free ride to small SUP/surf, that a bi...

Re: Multiple kites or multiple bars

While learning, I would stick with one line length (probably 25). There are enough challenges learning to foil. Don’t add different line lengths to the equation.

Re: Moving from heavier to lighter foil

I think this depends on your riding conditions. If it is mostly flat water and light conditions then only a racing kit will really make it exciting. But if you have some swell/waves, then there are a ton of options that will really increase the fun factor over your HG.

Re: My first long swim

Glad you made it in OK. Thanks for sharing; these reminders are helpful for everyone. There is a lot going on with kite down and a hydrofoil to manage but I think the biggest problem here was the line around the legs. That HAS to be avoided at all costs. If one is in real trouble, you can let everyt...

Re: Do I bother to get a 60cm mast?

I do know one thing, using the short mast on the sup wave wing is more energetic, dynamic, turns are quick, much more so than when using my 101 mast, I do believe after loads more practice in conditions that will help me to improve, then this will be my direction (when conditions allow)otherwise th...

Re: Do I bother to get a 60cm mast?

Foil, I like what you’re saying. I’m thinking of getting a large area surf wing set up to use on a short mast, probably 71cm. I love a high 100cm mast on my MHL lift, but this is 120cm all around wing. I believe the progression of development and skill is towards a shorter mast for wave/swell ridin...

Re: Liquid Force Impulse review

Which liquid force wings are interchangeable? Can this wing be put on any LF fuselage including the original Foil Fish? Or are the 2018 ones with the black mast and fuselage different? I believe u can use any LF fuse but I strongly recommend the carbon which comes with the wings. Weight of fuse has...
