Re: The Perfect Kite Event - how would it look like?

Like these guys say.. participation!! Ok. We all know the pros will take home the money, we don't care how much. Kiting is not about that. It's about mateship, fun times and time together on and off the water. A lot of us cringe at these events, but love events where we get interactive and meet othe...

Re: Best bankrupt?

Apparently they are using older Best kite files. I'm told they haven't got a new kite designer.

Re: Eleveight Escape surfkite

Don't quote me on this but I think they used EPS on last years, the build quality is far better on the 2019 as they us PU rather than EPS. EPS sucks in water super quick when it dings. It's also harder to fix. Both use Epoxy. I'd never touch EPS on a kite board again.

Re: Eleveight Escape surfkite

I've spoken to some guys who use it and its made with 4 layers under the front foot, so I'd expect it's rock solid. Plus unlike the North boards the foam won't suck in water after it gets damaged.

Re: How much do channels really impact grip?

Channels on surfboards are used for very glassy waves, as they are on wake boards. Not for choppy conditions that we are used to. On kite surfboards it's a fad and marketing.

Re: Best bankrupt?

I wouldnt say the Eleveight guys "ran away from the problems".

When they don't get paid in there jobs, or Best releases kite 9 months after their competitors. Thats not an option to continue.

They are producing from the North Factory and with German bladders, to avoid the issues that Best had.

Re: High wind kite?

You are right to consider a wave kite. They are designed to set and forget so they are great for high wind. Also consider the Eleveight WS. They probably have better top end than a Reo, which is ideal for high wind.

Re: What does true mean for you?

It feels like they are anticipating North to use is so they grabbed the slogan.

Kind of a bad move, because it makes me think of True North everytime .. their competitor
