Re: Slingy & LF taking competitor wings

What message are Slingy and LF sending that they have to go to competitors and incorporate their wings? Are they not innovative enough to come up with their own? I think the message they are sending is that they are working to grow the sport by supporting smaller businesses and individuals with goo...

Re: Dealing with Foil Caught in Bar

Following on Horst's point, someone had a line break under load a few minutes after having it caught in the foil at our spot this week. Fortunately no major damage or injury this time. If you get your lines caught, make sure you check them for abrasion!

Re: Outer Banks foiling spots

I've ridden often at the nags head event site/windmill Point spot and would not be eager to foil there with a >70cm mast. There are many shallow areas where you would have a hard time restarting if you come off foil, unless you are very good, have a short mast, and/or ride overpowered. My peeve abo...

Re: Foil vs TT at Body/Board dragging!

I've been trying with very limited success to figure out shallow-water dragging -- this is an incredibly helpful thread -- please keep the detailed descriptions and pictures coming. Thanks!!!!

Re: Safest Control Bar

It is quite a problem than the BRM does a full release right away because sometimes releases happen inadvertently when you hand touch the QR system the wrong way. It can happens while doing a gibe, a tack or something else. When it happens I definitely prefer the kite to flag than to go away. I've ...

Re: janky connections

I have a 3/4 length deck pad on my paipo from . I just cut out circles for the bolts and washers with an exacto knife, and have never had any problem with the bolts -- they pretty much stay below the top of the pad. But I have been wearing booties so it's possible barefoot would be ...

Travel review--learning to foil at Aquaholics St. Lucia

I just spent a week on St. Lucia kitesurfing out of the Aquaholics location, and I recommend in very very highly. Simon and Ron are great people and the location is fabulous—flat water, rolling chop, and waves on different parts of the bay. Easy launching and landing, hammocks waiting in the shade b...

shallow water and short masts -- a good option?

I'm getting ready to start the foiling learning curve sometime fairly soon, and many of my most convenient spots (Northern Outer Banks) have lots of shallows (so far I think I can count on 22-26 inches of water pretty reliably. I am certainly going to buy and use a full-length mast to learn on, and ...

Paipo and Shinnster riders: asking for upwind tips

I have been riding a BRM Paipo for a few months and really like it — pretty much stopped using other boards. However, I have not been able to make it go upwind well in the lower part of my kites’ wind range. I’m a reasonably experienced kiter (and windsurfer before that) and have never had problems ...

Re: 4th Gen Prodigy and all new Control Bar

Hey JZ -- Any details on the chicken loop release and re-connection? It looks different than the way you guys have always done it (which has always been perfectly functional but not the easiest to re-attach).
