Re: Slingshot Octane - Any good?

absolutely love this kite. Spent a lot of time on the 11m Rev and now have the 11 and 13m Octanes. MASSIVE airtime and and float forever. I mainly Freeride and probably would classify myself as an Old Schooler so big air, gracious flight, and soft landings are what I like. Very surprised that the ki...

Re: ok, which kite??? grrr

"Also the tubes are vulnerable to damage on anything other than a smooth, clean beach while KGBing." I know intuitively that seems like the case but we have not found that to really be true around here. The quick relaunch, bomber LE material, and construction techniques make LEI more robust on rough...

Re: Snow with a bow kite

You gotta ride these kites. Bows, hybrids and foils all fly very different. I've heard there are some foils that feel like bows but I have yet to ride them. The Ozones I've tried feel very different to inflatables. Try them, they may suit your type of riding. I use the Slingshot T2s, 14 and 9m. I pe...

Yeah the Rev is such a sweet snowkite you'ld almost think it was made for snowkiting. Self launch and relaunch are effortless. These kites love apparent wind and on fast hard pack surfaces REV up their power instantaneously. Your speed is your accelerator, head off the wind and hold on, even the sma...

In the past foils definitely had advantages in the winter. Relaunching a tube off the snow was difficult, so the LE got worn. Pumping individual struts were difficult to get the pressure right. You couldn't self launch or put down a tube kite easily by yourself. So foils were preferable on the snow....

Slingshot makes a sweet 4 line Foil: The Ranger. Comes in 9 and 12m. Durable, super solid, good float, nice bar set up. Really great pricing for the 07/08 season. Check it out.
