Re: Foil quick mount

I had one of those NoirMatter quick disconnect plates; I threw it away. (Recycled it.) Junk. After one or two sessions it's loose. What's the point of having a stiff board & mast if your board/mast joint wobbles? I guess I could have sold it, but it didn't feel right to foist that crap on someone el...

Re: Slingshot UFO 11m

I was just in Baja probably sitting at the same bar as Nak and there is a nice wide beach but near the waters edge there was a pretty steep drop and with the wind being slightly onshore , there is a lot of lift. And a kiter was trying to self land on the flat part near the water. My friend next to ...

Re: Ad blocker message

I started getting this message a couple of days ago as well. My Ad blocker has always been disabled for this site, I do see the ads. Both Chrome and Edge browsers are affected. It's not my router, because my phone works fine with this site on WiFi. I found a workaround on Chrome: I opened an "incog...

Re: inverted Ufo

I've never had a UFO invert once pumped up, but they can become inverted while pumping up. Since there's no strut, nothing prevents the inversion until the leading edge is pretty solidly inflated. I see two possibilities in your case: 1. You under inflated the kite. Low pressure, low structural stab...

Re: Another quality and safety issue: Ride Engine

I contacted the Ride Engine country distributor directly. After some (very friendly) eMail conversation they asked me to send in my harness and they send me a new one without even waiting for mine to arrive. GREAT SERVICE and thank you to ride engine. Outstanding! It sounds like the issue was with ...

Re: Slingshot UFO V3

from what knots till going 5m ufo with let say about 1200 cm foil wing on about 70 kg? I'm 90 kg and switch from the 6 to the 5 right around 16 knots and then to the 4 around 19 - 20 knots. The 5 has way more range than this would indicate; this is just the sweet spot below which the 6 is more fun ...

Re: Slingshot UFO V3

With UFOs, 4, 5, and 6 are my mainstay--these are the "must have" sizes. From there, it depends on the wind where you're riding. In the Gorge, the 3 is the next added size. For travelling or lighter wind spots, some combination of the 8, 9 or 11 can be added. The 8 is fine if you're not going to see...

Re: Slingshot UFO 11m

I prefer the walk up two lines metho for self landing. For sure I would use the second video's methods in any conditions other than normally powered for foiling. Pulling the front bottom line really is a variation of pulling the safety shown in the second video. You're just bypassing actually deplo...
