Re: Offshore winds in Aruba

I've traveled there twice and kited plenty at both Boca Grande and Fisherman's huts. I normally kite on Lake Michigan. If you are used to kiting the Great Lakes, the gusts in Aruba will not be a problem. Is it ideal? No. But it will be at least as steady as most Great Lakes areas in my opinion. If t...

Re: A "Real" Shame

Even reading both sides of this story, I can't really figure out what happened here. What I can say is that I have seen the Real coaches give my buddy a ride back to their launch after he crashed his kite in the slick area and it popped the leading edge valve. He was walking back just fine and they ...

Re: Aruba 2011 the seasson start

I agree that Aruba is as guaranteed wind as you can get. The straight offshore and straight onshore winds are a little bit of a pain but the guaranteed riding is hard to pass up. Can anyone name somewhere else with as good of a wind guarantee...especially in the northern hemisphere winter months (No...

Puerto Rico trip

I am headed to Puerto Rico in March and am looking for a great place to kite. Kitebeaches.com (great website by the way) shows a beach right next to my hotel (Embassy Suites in Dorado -- staying with the family). However, I need to know whether or not I can rent gear there (i.e. rent in San Juan and...

Re: "Best" house - Soundside kiting in Hatteras - Help me pick

"Banzai Landing" is the name of a place a bunch of us stayed at last year. It treated us quite well! You won't go wrong staying in Rodanthe.

Puerto Rico

I am headed to the Embassy Suites in Dorado with my family in March. I am hoping to get some kiting in. Is there kiting in that location? Should I bring my gear or is there a place for easy rental?

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Best place to kite sept-oct

Your right, that doesn't look so great for sept. or oct. Anyone know anywhere else for good wind those months?

Best place to kite sept-oct

Where is the best place to find consistent wind from mid sept - mid oct? I need a place that offers lessons for beginners. I would prefer to stay in the U.S. if possible but am willing to make an exception if guaranteed wind. Some place easy to get to (i.e. near an airport) is also a bonus. Thanks.
