You must have been talking about a low tide with some sand on the beach session. The place is rock central much of the time and no beach. Add consistent swell and you are fubared. Going strapless at SC would mean lost broken board and stitched up feet if you lost it once in significant surf with a higher tide there. The wave can connect for (almost a mile)* when epic with a large south swell. It is all about making that next section. Not as much of a chance of trolling back ...

6 minutes and the rider doesn`t hit the lip once or even make a turn on a wave.
Not too flattering for the kite. It sure seems efficient for mowing the lawn though.
