Re: Just another death loop

I mean grabbing the front lines at the depower strap/top of CL line. That is what I would hope to try, but what is so revealing about this video is that it looks very unliely that is physically possible/probable. At about 32 seconds the lines are completely wound and the bar out of reach. Does anyo...

Re: Just another death loop

Not panicked, long safe area without obstacles, hung on, waited for the kite to stop (as they usually do) and hopefully unhook the lines from the bar. -It was a lucky case that the area was uncrowded and without obstacles. -The kite eventually stop and the wind eventually drop. What if not and ther...

Re: Just another death loop

Go around the back of the kite? Never! Watch where it loops and then approach it from the site quickly and don't hesitate. You have to wait for the moment where it stops. You run parallel to it while it loops. It can only loop in one small area. Its only an option, situation may arise where it's a ...

Re: Just another death loop

What you were going to do in the same situation of the guy? And what could the lady do to help him? Waiting for your answer. Not panicked, long safe area without obstacles, hung on, waited for the kite to stop (as they usually do) and hopefully unhook the lines from the bar. Failing that I would ha...

Re: Just another death loop

I don't need a second opinion on you, I can tell you are a bell end. I didn't post a "valid option" because I was too busy pointing out how dangerous you are. A third party pulling a steering line could have serious consequences and cause the kite to start looping again. O shit handles are designed...

Re: Just another death loop

Oh shit handles are great for some issues, but would not have helped in the video. He was caught by a back line on the harness hook and even his release when fired did nothing. I disagree. He could remove the harness and grab the OS handle. Or someone else on the beach could grab one OS handle and ...

Re: Just another death loop

Do NOT hook in when self launching your kite! In reality this is impractical and not a good idea, you will have little or no control of sheeting and if a gust hits or the kite pulls there is a good chance that you will not let go. Self launching is very safe if you do it properly, the guy in that v...

Re: Just another death loop

Show me I'm wrong I think you are wrong. So does every kite school as they do not teach unhooked launching. I'm not saying that it shouldn't be done and if that is the method that you are happy with then stick with it, certainly you are erring on the side of caution with anything but a perfect laun...
