System Three makes a UV Resistant Epoxy called SB-112 surfboard resin. This epoxy has UV resistance so you don't have to paint over carbon or fiberglass board. It is stronger then polyester resins, and has the UV protection that normal epoxy does not.

Devin, The weight of the board has alot to do with the materials that go into the board. 9oz. glass seems a little heavy. I am sure it is bullet proof.
