Re: What about kiting in the olympics?

megaloop one design now I've heard everything. I wouldn't want that to be honest, as it would be so dangerous if kiters couldn't adjust their quiver and boards according to their weight and wind speed. Of course you could adjust your quiver and board size. One design in kiting won't be like windsur...

Re: What about kiting in the olympics?

The olympics should grow out of a grass roots support for a sport, so for instance, basketball, soccer, running swimming. Getting an olympic medal in one of those sports is something to be proud of. On the other hand artificial sports created just for the olympics are silly and the world wouldn't c...

Re: What about kiting in the olympics?

I think you are failing to recognize the point of one-design sailing. Some one designs are awesome (the nacra) some are shit (the olympic windsurfer, and the finn). If the IKA is able to use the same designs they use for their races, we will see some awesome and fast foil + foil combination an allo...

Re: What about kiting in the olympics?

One Design sailing tends to favour a particular weight/body shape which makes the activity all the more exclusive. Trust me, for 99.999% of us Olympics bring nothing, it's a totally corrupt and corruptible monetising sport bullshit organisation. It has no place in our world. A one-design class for ...

Re: Kiteladies - when did you get back kiting after birth?

My wife kited two months after the birth once the doc cleared her for "all" activity. Breast feeding wasn't an issue, but cautious riding is a good idea since mom is pretty important!!

Re: What about kiting in the olympics?

if kiting gets into the olympics I suspect it will start as a 100cm wide race board straight out of 2001, and a one kite quiver some sort of tube kite from 2006, something like that. That's the kind of stuff they pulled for windsufers who have RS:X, 286 long board, 93 cm wide, 15.5 kg, total weight...

Re: Learning on Cabrinha FX?

I don't know about UK, but in North America Chaose-es are going for silly prices and these a surprisingly great all-around kites despite what they are marketed for. Smooth and forgiving with very friendly power delivery, have a buddy who picked up a few in different sizes and having tested them - I...

Re: Cabrinha Fireball vs slider rope.

So you have used Fireball extensively in comparison riding toeside, or this is just your opinion? It doesn't matter if he used it extensively, or not -- it is a matter of simple physics/mechanics. The slider moves to the hips, and fireball doesn't. And if you are constrained in how much the connect...

Re: Cabrinha Fireball vs slider rope.

The slider is way better. Fireball is all about marketing claiming it changes the pull directions etc. but really that's what a slider actually does, the Fireball is just a chickenloop you can't do unhooked tricks with So you have used Fireball extensively in comparison riding toeside, or this is j...
