Re: How long does gear last?

A kite that is ridden a lot and hard (150+ days a year) will last one year if not less. HOWEVER most kites are used a lot less, and don’t wear out at all. They just become old models that people don’t want, but can still fly almost as well as the day they came out and will not fall apart in the air....

Re: 10 kite deaths in 1 year

The information from the USA suggests skiing/snowboarding are LESS hazardous than walking. I got it backwards: How comes walking is more dangerous than skiing? It has to be normalized somehow. If you think about the amount of time people walk comparing to the amount they ski (even pro skies) then i...

Re: Cabrinha Switchblade 5 IDS Pulleys

I don't know about the 2010s but my 2009 Cab SB 12m pulleys are crap. Bought it 12 months ago, and the right rear line pulley went after 6 months, and my left front line bridle pulley (closest to the rider) just snapped today when i was out in 20 knots onshore just about to go for a jump. They are ...

Re: 10 kite deaths in 1 year

I found it hard to believe that 650 died in one year. I don’t know where this guy gets his info from, and why aren’t newspapers allowed to post it? Media loves that stuff. I think Ricks numbers are more believable. How comes skiing is more dangerous than walking? Is that something to do with how you...

Re: Create the ultimate boosting board!

You need the speed only at the moment of take off, and you normally get that by pointing downwind from your normal path (with is usually upwind). Most boards can get a lot of speed in this little carve. This is completely different than a fast shape that allows you ride fast comfortably for very lon...

Re: Create the ultimate boosting board!

I agree with other people that you are looking for two different boards. The fastest board is not the best boosting board. If you want a board that is comfortable to ride in high speed and holds crazy edge without killing your back foot, that has little to do with jumping. When you jump you need the...

Re: Looking for a big kite, for light wind days

For those commenting that LT wind is "boring" - well, yeah, it's boring like riding a bicycle is boring compared to riding a motorbike - but they're two different kinds of experience, each has its own appeal. Nah, its like riding 50cc Bike VS a sports bike. I gave up light wind like some people her...
