Re: What is your Wave Harness

Ocean Rodeo Session 2 with Dynabar slider. From my very first time on a sliding harness, I couldn't imagine going back to fixed hook. Having more flexibility your hips open up is huge, for riding toeside (even more for foiling toeside, ...

Looking for a commercially available bar I can attach the rope to directly w/o a hook. Not a sliding bar but, a metal bar with no hook. Even better, a hole in the bar to put the rope through with a knot on the inside.

I have one on each side of my dynabar. If I really need my knife and I drop it ? I have another chance !
Coincidentally I also have a Dynabar which has a knife on each side.

(I wouldn't wear a knife on the wrist, that's a diver's setup).

... a Carbon elite back up harness. Just realized if I use that back up that I don't have a knife on me ! On my original I have one on each side of my dynabar. If I really need my knife and I drop it ? I have another chance !

Re: Don't show us your hook

I use this combination setup since November 2014 where I have a sliding and a pivot ring on my Dynabar V8. For the rope of the pivot ring I drilled a hole just in the middle of the bar. When foiling I always use the slider since I do a lot of switch stance foiling, carving, ...

Re: Don't show us your hook

I have used both a ring and rope on my harness (Dynabar). I prefer rope for the increased freedom of movement.

Re: Don't show us your hook

1/4" amsteel has a breaking load around 7700 lbs. That is pretty much the thinnest anyone is using for a slider rope. I have a Dynabar which works perfectly with 5mm Dyneema which (iirc) is also the size it originally came with - minimum breaking load is over 2,000kg (~4,400lb). 5mm is ...
