The problem with all that is that alot of moves create this type of tension. Like kiteloops. I can't see how getting lofted would be more tension than a powered kiteloop. Kiting is now all about loading as much as possible. Edging hard and sending the kite past 12:00 creates more load than getting y...

Looking over a lot of the more serious accidents, no attempt or at least not a successful attempt to depower was made. All too often there isn't enough time to overcome shock, analyze the situation, decide what to do and find/activate the kite depowering system. Even in cases in which more time app...

No I've flown Contras and rapture is completely different. Contra forces a similar type of concept (more canopy exposed to lift) whereas its embodied in the design of the Rapture. Its really a completely different kite, but surprsingly, I didn't have to think differently about how to fly it etc. It ...

sounds excellent. Then one final question, even if its off topic - can i connect the bar and its safe system to a different kite? As i see it, the attachment points on the leading edge for the static bridles are a problem, but couldnt it be done by using the pumpleash connector? You know, a combina...

To me it looks like the SAFE system can be easily messed up in waves, how does it compare to the 5th. I haven't used either. That was one of the reasons for developing SAFE. You want to get your kite up fast in waves so 5th lines are great. But kites tumble in waves all the time and that means you ...

SAFE will work on any bar that has a large sheeting range. However, its the kite that matters. I set up the first prototypes of SAFE on a 2003 14M Blacktip. It worked because it has stiff wingtips, as you guys were mentioning. However, it jellyfished like crazy (but of course was very stable in regu...
