Re: Advice on being kiteboard gear dealer?

I too will agree that Graeme is spot on. I teach AND work for a shop and the retail side does not do much for us. The internet sales kill us, especially the closeout sales. Someone/Shop will pony up a lot of money to buy out the season end deals from the importer and then turn around and sell them f...

Re: Core - I'm giving it to you straight

Just an FYI on my personal issues with the bar. If you untwist your lines by manually twisting the spinner be careful to not twist the release by accident. The manual spinner is right above the release and I have by accident had the release go. I am not a fan of the bar where it relates to everythin...

Re: The Duke - A Nobel Addition To The OR Mako Family

NH, I own Vanguards and have about 2+ hours in on a Duke. The VG is a surf machine and loves waves. The VG will outperform the Duke on good waves for a true surf style rider. The VG was designed for surfing. On flatwater conditions both my 5'4 and my 5'2 VG go upwind better than the Duke when ridden...

Re: Test Naish Ride 9m 2014/2015 (version III)

Hi, can you please giver us your background? I've been kiting for 12 years, teaching full time for 10 years and riding naish Ride's I, II and III and they kiteloop pretty darn good. I actually enjoy looping them better than the Park.

Re: Shinn Shinnster vs Spleene Zone 5.3

I agree with NEKite....I think he hit it on the nail that comparing the 2 boards is very very difficult since they are 2 different beasts. I have not ridden a modern Zone but have a lot of time on the old zone, and a Litewave DV8 (in the same ball park). The Shinnster and the BRM Paipo are totally d...

Re: DIY Hydrofoil South Padre Island, Texas

Denise, the foil is to long for the bay. Petra and I went out and body dragged with it close to a 1/4+ miles out and it is still to shallow. Not willing to take a chance and hit bottom and screw things up. We will wait for good Gulf conditions to get started again. Another hard norther coming our wa...

Re: Trainer Kites: Ocean Rodeo React vs Flysurfer Viron 2 DL

Hi, I do not have experience with the Flysurfer but I do with the React. I use 2 different kites for beginner trainer kites depending on wind speed. I use the React and also an Ozone 4m UNO. The UNO is more expensive since you nee to buy a bar and a harness in addition to the kite. The React comes w...

Re: Small SLE kite (6m range) for learning vs trainer?

Take a look at the Ozone UNO 4m. I use it a lot for teaching, use it as a buggy kite and also in 40+mph surf conditions. It's an awesome very versatile little kite. You can use it with any 4 line bar. My friend bought one for his wife (105#) to use and he used it a lot for when he went to Punta San ...

Re: Why are Kite Lessons so expensive in the US???

To the OP it looks like most people have answered correctly that you get what you pay for. So here is a breakdown of what we see here and what we as instructors have heard over and over again. Rates vary from $50hr to $175hr and maybe more. We even have some new school coming here to South Padre tea...

Re: The 2015 Naish Fusion Control System - Break the Mold

Bar looks nice but DAM it, put some red on the left side. Looking at those pics posted by southflorida, even their own riders can't decide which way to hold or set up the bar. For safety sakes a little red on the left would be great. Naish for years has had red on the left and if I ever had to help ...
