Tips to prolong chicken loop line life

I'd like to use a North quick release or similar but got tired to buy new ones every few weeks. I rubbed the line with hard surf wax and it helped a lot. Someone told me candle wax works just as well so I'm trying that now. Next I might look into melting the candle wax into the fibers for a more dur...

I have been hit in the head by my board when it was picked up by a small wave. The board hit me flat in the back of the head (I was chest-high in water facing shore) and the wave was just head high, so less than 3 feet. But all the water pressure transferred from the whole surface of the board to my...

You have seen the light! ALLELUYAH! You're hooked for life! :thumb: I envy you. I remember the time when I would be able to pull off something COMPLETELY new every session. Like staying upwind. I miss those times. I think the next 12 months will be the best of your kitesurfing career... enjoy.

Hi Airgear can you give more info on your experience with a surfboard (Naish thruster I assume?) Do you need to be underpowered to surf the wave easily? (I see you are in LA so I assume you have real world waves, not those Hawaii bombs) With a surfboard do you park the kite or chase it? Is it any us...

OK Airgear 'tis means using different sections of the rail during the turn - back section to initiate the turn, middle section to finish the turn. I'm off to try it out today as we finally got some &^%#! wind below 40 knots :runaway:

Hi Fabrizio, If anything available in the market had 3 straps there would be no need for this post... fact is you can't buy a 3-strap directional any more. That begs the question of what are the manufacturers thinking. HELLO? ANY MANUFACTURERS OUT THERE? NAISH? NORTH? SOMEBODY? :smash: (p.s. since w...

Aye Airgear thou speaks wisely. Must try the push down thing next time. How do you push with your front foot? Usually I push with the back foot to make the tail bite and turn and help it by pulling with the front foot to get the nose go where I want. If pushing with both feet... will I go straight? ...

Thanks guys. Solo: that's the $$$ solution I was trying to avoid...:motz: Airgear: yes loose straps seem to help... and riding skimboards helped too... but is this a compromise forced on us by rubber-kneed blind manufacturers or is it a better way of riding? :wallbash: p.s. can you elaborate on the ...

Re: Why do symmetrical footstraps exist?

I would have bought a RRD directional if they had 3 straps. Maybe we are just using them the wrong way? How can it be all manufacturers are blind (or have rubber knees?). [quote="joeyb"]I agree, I come from a windsurfing background and it makes no sense. Perhaps the twin-tip guys are in control of t...
