Expensive yes but totally worth the hassle. If it fails, you have a greater chance of breaking lines, your kite, or yourself which makes the QR replacement seem insignificant. I would suggest looking for an older model like 014 or 015 - Take the QR off and then you have spare lines and trim lines. ...

Plenty of Taiwanese are as big as you and get around no problem.
BTW Taitung is great do an image search on Taitung kitesurf and feast your eyes. I say go....

Kohsamui rent a motorcycle it's cheap and I don't think you need a license. Then you can move around.

With 5th line kite (always works with my Rebels, I use this over 35kn wind, I assume works for other kinds of kites too) 1. Lower kite to the ground with tip touching the sand 2. Unhook and hold the chicken loop in your hands 3. While unhooked take a 3 or 4 steps upwind; the kite rotates on its wing...

Hello I've done some googling and seems like the distance is about 14m for a 5th line kite (Rebel) does anyone have the exact measurement from kite pigtail to the 5th line split metal ring? Thanks!

Baishawan can be very choppy in winter. Sometimes huge cleanout sets. That's not all the time but not uncommon. The Spot in Zhunan is the easiest / most mellow spot I know in north Taiwan in winter. Penghu has some flat water even in winter with strong wind (contact the Sunrise Bed & Breakfast there...
