Re: Reo and Keahi - North Shore Drone Video

Yep, that's one beautiful video. Great to be able to see the kite as well, I say keep videos like this coming :thumb:

Re: Gong Hellvator - 1rst KBHF with both foils providng pos

Conclusions for me: 1) At lower speeds (almost?) all rear wings have to provide positive lift by their AoA, because the front wing alone does not provide enough lift to compensate the riders` weight for foiling. I don’t think that’s necessarily true, the front wing could provide the needed lift thr...

Re: Arrow and Manta kitefoil

I'd be interested in knowing where it ships from, for tax purposes. Indeed UAE or somewhere else? Thanks

Seems like a cool way for 007 to arrive at goldeneye's island for a raid :P

Re: Dropping the hook & slider, BRM bar and Ride Engine mod.

Thanks for sharing Herbert. Nice job and creativity. 2nd that - very interesting that eliminating the moment from the spreader bar hook felt about the same as a sliding spreader bar - would like to know if others who try this also agree with this observation. Herbert, thanks for sharing. I second G...

Re: Gong Hellvator - 1rst KBHF with both foils providng pos

Nick, maybe you're confusing the center of lift of the main wing with the center of lift of the whole hydrofoil (neutral point)? If the stabilizer is providing positive (upward) lift, the CG has to be aft of the center of pressure of the main wing (let's call it CpW). Because, if the CG is forward o...

Re: Need help understanding Kiteloops

This part is intriguring "believe it or not, bringing the bar all the way in, and tuning it all way and holding it tight will generally result in a less powerful pull from the kite" As a loop beginner, trying to ease in and learn them gingerly, I think intuitively the natural tendency would be to t...

tautologies wrote: If I have understood the situation correctly. OP was hooked in, then wound the lines three times around the bar, kite got hit by a wave powered up, and the bar floaters snapped off.
The failure was bellow the upper part of the bar ends, from what the OP's pics show.

Re: 2015 Naish Fusion bar destroyed during self rescue

All this aside, I still don't see OP's incident as a safety issue. Inconvenience and shitty to have happen for sure, but not something that would warrant a recall of any sort. In principle OP could use the bar right now. From what I've read from the OP posts, I have to disagree. Yes, in principle h...

Re: Gong Hellvator - 1rst KBHF with both foils providng pos

Regarding deep tuttle, despite the fact that it may be impossible to adapt some existing boards due to the lack of thickness, I guess it makes a lot of sense to use it with a hydrofoil. :thumb: No wonder Taaroa is now using what they call Probox, which seems to be about as deep as a deep tuttle (wit...
