Re: Drysuit or wetsuit if you anticipate a swim?!

We have ocean water here which never gets much below 7 degrees c. The wind chill is what's cold.. I sometimes fall in purposely to warm up. Two days ago we kited for a couple of hours in air temp of 6 degrees c and I felt warm in my 4/3 Oneill wetsuit.. I do wear a hood, booties and gloves. We are i...

Re: Drysuit or wetsuit if you anticipate a swim?!

Years ago we all used to wear Ocean Rodeo drysuits in the cold season around here, but I understand that our local shop has not sold one in several years. Virtually all of us wear wetsuits now. The new stretchy wetsuits are nice and comfortable and certainly much better in the water if you are swimm...

It's mold. It's not coming out. Fresh water left on the ripstop polyester canopy material will stain permanently.
Correct. But I do notice that the stains diminish or fade somewhat over time (months).. as long as you don't put your kite away wet again.

Re: switching feet on the fly

Gunnar's video above is great. Here are some points to emphasize that work for me: -learn the heelside to toeside footswitch first -be sure you can ride toeside first (gybe to toeside and then ride toeside..without any footswitch) -be sure your front footstraps are loose enough to get in and out of ...

Re: North Pro-Foil board settings?

When we had a chance to try the board we just put the mast in the middle of the tracks and the straps at a middle position and it worked fine for all of us. We were all experienced riders.

Re: Fixing g10 wings?

I file off the sharp corners on the new wings on my foils. The sharp corners are often the most dangerous part of a foil. (I watched a friend get stitched up after being badly sliced by one). So don't worry about repair, just file down the damaged corners so that no sharp splinters remain. You may t...

Re: Help repairing twintip edge/rail

edt has good advice above. You do not need super special epoxy for this, just be sure to clean and rough up the surfaces where the epoxy will adhere. Set up some clamps to hold the board surface in shape while the epoxy cures. Your repair will probably be stronger than the surrounding material. :win...

Re: America's Cup 2021, the hydrofoil AC75

For those who don't like this new fangled stuff, here is some classic sailing. The days of wooden ships and iron men! Who needs to ever go over 10 knots.   (sorry, completely off topic.. I am just surprised at the resistance to newer faster sailing craft) got-before-wind-oil-painting...
