Re: Drift launch - consistently get steering and front line tangled

K-Roy's description is pretty bang on in my experience. After setting up, when you wrap your lines back onto the bar and go back to your kite, put the bar OVER the kite, not under. Putting it under results in the twist I think you're describing, back lines through front lines. If you're talking abo...

Re: Truck rack for boards and foils

So after trying to buy the above racks I soon realized it was going to cost more than I was willing to spend. So I designed my own and with help from kpterrie built this instead.

Re: Kurtis Goggles

Yep me too. They are not the only sun glass company that is geared to water sports that seems to have a problem actually returning emails or accepting orders. Seems like amateur hour in the sunglasses area anyhow. My guess they are waiting for enough orders to do a made in china run.

Re: Once upon a time, before foiling as we know it...

The airchair and the like have been around for years... I can find information dating back to the early 1980s. When I first saw KBHF its the first thing I thought of but I could not get a clear answer if it would work behind a kite or not. I got my answer in La Ventana earlier this year. I saw a guy...

Re: Shoulders Forward?

WOW that is a lot of rocker for skim board. Good thing it works as a foil board cause that would not work well in shallow flats of the great lakes as a skim....lol
Thanks for the pics Starsky. Looks like a good setup and probably inexpensive too.

Re: Shoulders Forward?

Wood skim with deck pad, enough to float the aluminum foil but quite neutral. What are the approximate dimensions of your wood skim? Is it just a home made plywood one or a store bought? How much rocker in the nose? I use to make my own years ago when skim boarding was my thing. What foil set up do...

Re: Shoulders Forward?

Foiling with a low volume board has taken it to the next level. I often approach the board in the water feet first. Tipping the near rail at the tail with my back foot makes it easy to manipulate into launch position hands free while tensioning the lines for a quick and seamless take off. Looks abo...
