Re: Question about boots & progressing

Just put on the boots and try them out. Modern kiteboard boards are the exact same spacing as wakeboard bindings (6 inches) so they should fit. Get one or two sessions in boots then you'll figure out where you are and if that is how you want to ride. This is one of those things it's hard to get advi...

Re: Swimming Is The Best Exercise....

Start hydrofoiling in very light wind. No need for a pool. I go swimming about twice a week.

Re: Kite Release Training

I agree everyone needs training. I think quick release training is sufficient. Most people who freeze up have not used their quick release in years. Maybe the last time they used it is when the bought the control bar. So you want to do this training: First exercise: With the QR under tension (using ...

There's way more variety now then there used to be and a lot better prices. For me I like the racing foils more, because I want speed.

Re: Sewing line loops...

I wouldn't sew them. I would get some sleeving and make a figure 8. When you tie the knot be careful not to keep it neat and tidy that's what keeps the strength up. Sewing the lines is a bitch. If you sew them too tight, that can weaken the line because the line kinks around the sewing thread, and i...

Re: Real risk to be hit by a lightening when riding

The only time a kiter has been struck by lightning is not with his kite in the air but after he landed it. I think there's something about the material of the kite or shape that makes it difficult for lightning to hit it. Like said above if you see lightning, land the kite! If you see lightning that...

Re: Powered kiteloop, fronthand not staying on bar.

You want to be able to do kiteloops with just one hand so you can do grabs on your loop. Nose or crab grabs look nice. I understand with both hands on the bar you can get the kite lower, but I would rather have a nice grab than get the kite lower.

Re: Havent been kiting for over a month..... Dont care!

The worst part of about mountain biking is if you crash there's a good chance for an injury that prevents you from kiteboarding. But if you have given up kiting I guess that's ok? I have no idea why anyone would mountain bike and kiteboard. The mountain biking is pretty risky and that's the only rea...
