Re: naish pivot vr ozone enduro

The enduro is great, I think it turns faster and feels a bit lighter in the air than the pivot, so perhaps is better for a wave kite, but I haven't ridden the last two years of pivots so take that for what it's worth. The pivot and enduro are both great all around kites I don't think you can go wron...

Apparently that design is so your board doesn't "go under" the chop . . . . because I guess you are bad at kiteboarding? Hilarious.

Oh the grumpy old men when the Finn gets chopped. Their salty tears. Ok well that is a silver lining to be sure but don't count the Finn out. RSX is awful and the windsurfers certainly deserve better. If they get chopped, I think it's a chance for them to come back with a better formula.

Re: Kiteboarding is officially sailing, gets its own medal for Paris 2024

I'm pretty suspicious about kiteboarding in the olympics. I don't know the details as well as longwhitecloud and honestly to me kiteboarding is sailing. For me the problem is the olympics is more about politics and less about the the sport itself. Sailing in particular is very political and how well...

Re: Launching solo

Self launch is like anything else the more you practice the better you get. it is worth it to spend time doing a bunch of self launches in light wind that way you can practice without too badconsequences if you fail also things happen a lot slower in light wind. for self land no matter what people s...

Re: Hard Wearing Low Stretch Lines

Matteo if that's your only issue with it, the strongest knot you can make in q-power line is just to take some regular sleeving material pull it over the q-power and then knot from there. The reason it breaks is how tight the bend is. Additional sleeving will make it a lot stronger at the figure 8 k...

Re: Hard Wearing Low Stretch Lines

In my humble opinion q-power liens are still the best lines you can buy. Even though they spec at 600 pounds and you can buy 1.75mm dyneema lines that spec at 800 pounds the q-powers usually feel stronger I guess the reason is that the covering prevents wear. Because you can't splice Q-power and onl...

Re: On-shore vs Off-shore wave kite

on shore wind you are riding towards the kite so it has to drift well but doesn't necessarily have to upwind very well. off shore wind when you are on a wave you are riding against the wind so drift doesn't matter the lines are tensioned the entire time you are on the wave, all you want is maximum u...

EPIRB's, PLB's, Spots are for imminent death and they work via Satellite relay and require registration (PLB's/EPIRBS) or subscription (Spot). You will get a delayed but massive emergency response (helicopters) and the guarantee of ditching all your gear.

Re: How hard?

Only reason not to over pump is so your kite doesn't explode. If your kite doesn't explode then sure go for it. Of course if your kite does explode that means you have to buy a new kite. But is having a reason to buy new kite so bad?
