Re: The fastest board surface possible with DIY

If you look at the fastest fish in the world, the sail fish, which is capable of more than 100km/h without cavitation, its scale is comprised of millions if not billions of prickly needles, which can not be duplicated until the next generation higher resolution 3D printer.

Re: 3D Printed Fin - link -

My titanium foil is 2.2mm, that is 5.5 times as thick. 0.4mm is like a razor blade.

Re: Gold Cup Australia 2015

Johnny doesn't look like he was sponsored by Spotz, might still be on Spotz2.
So nice to see him winning again.
They didn't raise enough money in Australia for the live stream.

Re: 3D Printed Fin - link -

I have been trying to shape titanium into foil shape by hand, and this seem like a good solution.

Re: Kite Hydrofoiling | Brouwersdam | 02-10-2015

At 4 knots, ram air will collapse unless you actively fly it.
LEI will hold its shape, plus the bladder acts like a reserve parachute when wind drops below 4.
At our local spot at Kailua, all the large foil kites are replaced by smaller 12m foil kites at 10+ knots.

This is when the leading edge bladder will come in handy even when it's under inflated.

Re: Best way to wipe out on a foil?

The best way is to land your butt on the water and skip like a pebble for 30 feet.
