Re: what are the best pads and straps for twin tip lately?

Naish Apex, I put a set on in September, since then I've had over 150 sessions and they are holding up great! The honeycomb print on the fabric is the only wear I can tell so far. The fabric is still flawless and strong. I usually kill a pair of pads once a year but these will definitely make it ano...

New animated website for live global wind

Just saw this pop up and thought it was worthy of a share. https://www.windyty.com Live wind conditions, and 14 day forecast, with search function. This looks very similar to Earth.nullschool.net but much better layed out and easier to use. It's accurate for my location in Vietnam while windguru is ...

Re: How far are you prepared to travel for wind?

Ive reorganized my life to be in windy locations all year. I fly to Vietnam in November and back home to Canada in May or June. I need to drive 1.5 hours to my kite spot on Vancouver Island but I usually stay a week at a time. So yes, I'll travel as far as it takes to have 20+ knots. A month without...

Re: Ozone line lengths... 25m for 9m?

I've been on ozone edges for 3 years now and in the last year I discovered that 28m lines work best with a 9m kite. I use 25m lines for the 11 and 15m. Unless it's ridiculous light wind, then I add extentions and ride 33m with the 15. Kinda boring though but at least I get out. I'd agree with plumme...

Re: New Ozone Edge Comparison or Reviews?

Just had the opportunity to check one out on the beach today briefly (visually only unfortunately) They have changed the fabric to double ripstop nylon. Leading edge still looks the same and I really couldn't see a difference in profile with my 2013 next to it in the same 9 size. Anyway, I'm set on ...

Re: Convert North Quad Bar into single line flag out?

I build my own bars using north components and I've learned lots through trial and error. The best discovery I made was to use Q-line. You can build your lines from this stuff and tie a figure 8 knot in the front line about half way up and larks head a safety line from the knot back through your CL....

New Ozone Edge Comparison or Reviews?

My Ozone Edges are getting a bit old and tired. I'm looking at getting a new quiver of the current model but I see that Ozone says they have redesigned it completely. That worries me a bit since I think the design was the strongest trait of the kite. I'd like some comparisons of the new edge vs. the...

Re: mui ne school

There will be wind here but it will have changed direction blowing from the south and it is a lighter wind, usually 12m days a few times a week. Check in at C2sky kiteschool for rentals and instruction.
Enjoy your time.

Re: Shortening a 2012 North bar no problem?

Shortening lines? If so, it needs to be done below the Y. I've never shortened the bar itself but why not. just drill out the rivets remove the ends, saw off what you want to and replace with new rivets or equivalent.

Re: Board flip direction

Well, I gave it a few more days on the beach and on the water. It seems I'm only able to catch the board on the beach from the rail for now. Yes Toby, I've got the dvd. You flip them towards yourself like most others. I think you are right though, just need to relax a bit more and start nailing the ...
