Advice on mainland China Kiting Location & and Xiamen kiters

Considering relocating long term to China for work. I have read on the kite beaches section of the site that there is a scene in Shanghai and Xiamen and also in Sanya Hainan. Hainan is not an option as it is not convenient for the work that i do. Xiamen from everything i read looks to offer the best...

Any kite surfers in La Union area Phillipines ?

With this hefty weather system (typhoon) coming in i am keen to get some sessions in either side of the storm, prolly Sunday or Monday on the West Coast near San Fernando... any other kiters in this neck of the woods ?

Some major swell coming in too.

Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

I have a bout a 2 inch diameter burst in a strut of a Raven 2. I screwed up by not closing one of the zippers and went ahead and pumped it up for a session. :( - a piece of the bladder actually burst off. I am traveling but have some TearAid Type A and Type B with me and 1/2 a tube of Aqua Seal, i d...

Re: naish octupus...finding the leak

100% of my slow and fast leak problems have been on the valves with the Naish Octopus system (struts and LE). Use Acquaseal to restick them. Check them first.

Re: Home made extensions to a Naish Shift System

Hi all, I added some 'home made' extensions with sleeves (7m) to the kite end of the lines (adding 5 separate lines), for a 16m torch 1.

It worked no problems in the first session with them. The extra power was welcomed.

Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

This is a question for Naish product development and probably a lot of other manufacturers too. Why can't you make it so that strut and LE valves do not delaminate. I have had a bunch of Naish kites for the past 5 years and they have all done it. Most recent observation is on the Raven 2, all strut ...

Octopus System and using Teflon Tape on the connectors

I am fixing leaks on inflate valves on struts for Raven 2. I have heard that you need to wrap Teflon tape around the octopus connector. It sure is tricky to get the tape around that connector from the LE. Is it really necessary to put the teflon tape on? What does it achieve? Any tips appreciated. T...

Home made extensions to a Naish Shift System

I've got a Naish Shift set up with 22m lines. I want to add some 6m or so extensions for the light winds. This may be a super dumb question but can i just use some old (but brand new) set of 4 lines to make the extensions? On the steering lines i would just add them to the bar end. Inside 2 lines an...
