Re: Kiteboards: Flat Vs Rocker

technically a flat board might have more "pop" because you can ride faster and no loss and suchbut jn practice a rockered board allow you to carve into the pop easier and will hold a lot more power sitting deeper. Anyway I haven't tried tons of board but comparing a few boards while on 12m in 25 kno...

video: my worst wipeout of the year on backroll kiteloop,

while trying out backroll kiteloop more powered I over rotated and landed flat on ribs. no injuries but knocked the wind out of me. I have had more impressive wipeout but landing flat even at low speed isn't fun. I guess it's a good harness fit test ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csOJaqHSKRY I a...

Re: How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

So much said… Trying to compress To make the technique more pure, think of an kbhf without the kite, just like a surfboardhydrofoil riding on flat water. With a kite you could somewhat cheat a little bit ;-) First: (if there`s) No roll, (there will be) no turn without crashing. Second: the roll is ...

Re: How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

I also thought it was similar to biking. When heading far downwind at low speed yaw is pretty apparent but for fast carving in gybe I feel it's more like counter steering, you acrually yaw slightly upwind in order to roll and lean into the turn when doing carving turn to toesfide. But very quickly i...

Re: Jumping with a smaller kite 7m Bandit 2016

i have 2015 7m, it boosts well (as high as my 9m GP in similar condition) but i agree that landing are tricky in gusty condition, you drop fast and need to move kite actively. If you know how to heliloop that helps but if lulls are too strong it's going to be tough... I tried to loop it in 25 knots,...

Re: carving to toe

I'll answer this as I learned to do it recently and the regulars here have answered it a bunch of times. You should search for videos. Basically you are on wrong track. Ride more up wind, keep kite low at 45 degrees. Initiate kite turn fairly aggressively, and quickly follow by yawing board into an...
