Re: Is it possible to kite a surf-foil?

The 'Chinese SUP foil' comes with (I think) a 60 cm mast. Also available are 76 and 91 cm masts. I am used to using a 91 cm mast. What are your thoughts about masts longer that the 60 cm mast that comes standard? Shorter mast makes the foil more agile, reactive, easier to turn - this is exactly wha...

@Pikovsg & Bletti
In my statement I was talking generally and not specifically about 13.4 Cloud vs 12m Airush Ultra. :)

In deep water and waves, why do you find it more fun with the 70 instead of the 90 ? With the shorter mast I have better control and I can turn easier, faster and tighter because I have less submerged mast in the water. The foil is much more agile, reactive and more fun to ride and now I always pre...

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

The Cloud 13.4m is 2.3kg, half a kg less than the ultra 12m and about the same weight as the ultra 9m, which is why I went with the Cloud for surviving lulls. It would be good to get a chance to ride both back to back and also test relaunch. Making assumptions which kite will survive better in lull...

Re: Short masts

Definitely 28"!

I have been riding 90 cm mast for two years and now it is collecting dust after I bought the 70 cm in the beginning of this summer - much more fun!

Re: Anyone try the 2018 Drifter

Can anyone compare the 7m to the 2017 ? I need to upgrade from my 2014. Not much difference in 2017, I suppose you mean 2018? :D I can compare only the 8m so far but I hope it helps enough. I am riding Drifters since 2014, I own 2015 and 2016 kites and I have tried also my friends 2014 and 2017 mod...

Re: Tacking advice for a newb

Although duck tack and roll tack are technically the same manoeuvre - carving the board 180° upwind and turning the body facing the nose, the foot work and the "movement" of the board are different. Using duck tack for foils or roll tack for surfboards sounds weird to me. Tacks on surfboard and foil...
