Re: How Many LEI Riders Own A Foil Kite For Ultra-Light Wind

I see a lots of slightly used race foil kites for sale now. Just like me, bought a Speed 3, tried it and take a hit, cut my losses and sell it. I bought four of the second hand chrono's and they rock. I hardly use the LEI's anymore. The 9, 12 and 18 bridles are all micky mouse and the 15 bridle nee...

Re: How Many LEI Riders Own A Foil Kite For Ultra-Light Wind

I picked up some second hand chrono's about four months ago (18, 15, 12), and I haven't used my 19 or 17 Edges since. Unless it is very gusty, i use the chrono's exclusively on flat water. The 18 chrono with a surfboard craps all over the Edges in light wind. In small surf and light to moderate on s...

Re: Could I replace my LW North Nugget with a skim board?

I have the Slingshot SCUD which I picked up at a swap in Hood River http://www.kiteboardinguk.com/acatalog/ ... _2011.html Hope it might work. I have the slingshot scud and the north nugget, and the slingshot scud will certainly go in less wind than the nugget. It will require better balance and no...

Re: King or Duke

I ride the duke more, the extra volume in our on/off winter winds helps.

Re: Wave Kiting – doubt about specific quiver vs. technique

We had on-shore 10 to 12 knots over the weekend with little one to two foot waves. I was flying a chrono 15 and slingshot ankle biter (a nugget equivalent).

Worked an absolute treat and I had fantastic upwind ability.

Just needed to be mindful of riding towards the kite!!!

Re: Any solution for on-shore, light wind, 3-4 foot choppy s

Thanks for all the comments and recommendations. Following your comments and other threads, it seems that the most suitable solution for light winds AND choppy sea is the hydrofoil (cost/performance). I doubted the hydrofoil because I thought that the wave/chop will hit the nose of the board causin...

Re: Any solution for on-shore, light wind, 3-4 foot choppy s

We have onshore winds with 3-4 foot slop with some nice flat sections between the white water. If you get good speed and have a good kite for upwind performance you stand a chance of getting out. I have a duke, nugget, flysurfer razor, foilboard, maui paipo, flat old 23 inch wide fish style surfboar...

Re: Cut Liquid Force Mast to 1 ft and 2 ft for Foil Beginner

Thanks Seaquestrian for the post...... I had sent a question off to the LF folks about three weeks ago asking about a shorter mast and faster wings. Still no reply sadly. Based on the info you provided, I have ordered the 18 inch mast as we have a lot of shallow lakes (2 foot) that are great for win...

Re: Infinity V4 light wind manchine

Plummet and strekke, I would love to give foils a try. They would sort of bring me back to my skydiving roots....... WAY to expensive to buy before trying. Unfortunately, I've heard they don't loop all that well. I likes the fast kites. Plus the website for the chrono states " not a wave kite" How ...
