Re: Large compact wings for surfimg on a hydrofoil

So, in same order as posted, of course profile and outline means a lot but the outer measurements are the first we meet and also crucial in terms of how fast they turn versus how lousy they go upwind. AR = span*span/area: Ketos 1200 ....... Area 1200 cm2 span 66.0 cm AR 3.6 Kenalu ............ Area ...

Re: Large compact wings for surfimg on a hydrofoil

The Ketos 1200 fits the same fuselage yes, and you dont have to stand further forward than with the smaller wings, a big plus. I use both 91 and 100 cm masts regularly with the 1200, quite often the 91 cm, as I use the 1200 more often in lighter winds where I dont need the 100 cm as much as when o/u...

Re: Fastest way how to set up your kite

This is a funny thread. If you really want to save serious time and get on the water faster, then quit your job and move to the beach. :cool2: Or, second best, work remotely and ...... move to the beach. :thumb: But working is also great as the contrast and very rewarding in itself (depending on th...

:-)

There is a middle way, Peter.

I know.

I most often get into the wetsuit, then roll my lines out, and pump a kite as the last thing, so I know how the wind is and can choose size without hesitation now :D

Re: Best foil to use it Strapless?

If it is for learning strapless, it is a dilemma. The really big boards, both thicker and more area, are a lot faster to learn to ride as you can surface ride so much longer, makes an incredible difference. On the other hand, the thinner and smaller boards tends to sit deeper in the water so you get...

Re: Fastest way how to set up your kite

Knotwindy, that is actually a good point. Running out your lines is a smart thing to do, because you check by feel.... What's with the rush anyway. Setting up the gear with the wind in your hair, eyeing the waves and whitecaps...is all part of the session. Foreplay, if you like. Who cares about a m...

Re: Ultra V2 or Nexus?

For foiling in very light wind definitively the Ultra is the way to go it will stay in the air in almost no wind and drift downwind effortlessly. When you get into the smaller size like 9m it's less of an issue so pick the one you like best because there is enough wind to keep it up there even when...

Re: Question Profile Go Foils ?

Agree, some might give their details away yes. But most, the same with surfboard shapers, dont give their rockerlines and 3D models to the public, that would be like Coca Cola giving their recipe to everyone from the very start. You can copy yourself yes, but this is not as easy and will give the "o...

Re: Shorten Line Length from 24m to 22m

I must say, I dont believe it matters at all...

And even IF you could feel a small difference, it might as well be to the slightly better instead.

So just choose the linelength you want :thumb:

Re: woo2 vs. Woo3 and why I've recommended upgrading for higher jumps

Getting a new board soon. Strongly considering not putting PiQ mount onto it. I just feel that the jump measurements are inaccurate and I am getting too worried about height thus not being in the moment and just enjoying the session. Very true indeed, keep it clean and simple and no worries just EN...
