Re: WindFoil - KiteFoil

No from me too... I still have the windfoil with my kitefoil big wing, but havent used it since last summer/autumn. WHY NOT ? For one, I wanted to learn to windfoil, and I wanted to use a kitehydrofoil for this simply to go against the idea that it HAS to be a very specific windhydrofoil to work - s...

Re: fastest free ride hydrofoil?

Hi everybody, with my new Moses Onda 633 max speed is 44 km/ora with my Banga (not freeride hf) is 54 km/ora ciao Thanks for the numbers! Have you check the VMG difference? I'm thinking maybe Onda 633 is a good option for amateur racers :) Why ??? Sorry to say, but IMHO it would almost be the worst...

Re: Line strength for hydrofoiling ?

Nope, it cant (be quantified - I can not at least) But you can ride in less wind, and have a more direct feel even with really long lines, so thats the deal, no matter how small the difference is. I am not to say if I can feel it or not, but one day I CAN say, when I have made a bar with thinner lin...

Re: Beware fishing lines and carry a knife.

I have tried it a couple of times too, on hydrofoils (never on waveboards) - not far out, but sometimes in marginal winds where you can not ride "away" from the coast, you get too close, and I have picked up a line. Jumped in the water, and had to untangle while trying to keep my kite flying in this...

Re: Line strength for hydrofoiling ?

The short version is: If you dont jump nor race or ride extremely powered in light wind, it does not make sense to buy new lines for a bar with same thickness/strength as for your TT/Waveboard bars, would be stupid as I see it. Line lengths are different anyways (in marginal winds) meaning not the s...

Re: Line strength for hydrofoiling ?

I know, but I dont see it this way, as it is an unpredictable load that one can not foresee anyways... When our "normal" say 270 kg lines are more than sufficient in all scenarios (for me no matter how hard they get spanked in TT jumping or looping), then they will be WAY overkill for foiling IMO. I...

Re: Line strength for hydrofoiling ?

Thanks downunder :thumb: Some information in that thread, definitely, but also some "Quababble" he hee. It was not very hydrofoil specific, so I would like to continue here (will change the title). Also, I am not talking about the rear lines only - as most of us have WAY less load on the front lines...

Line strength for hydrofoiling ?

I know this topic might have been put up before, but I couldnt find it... If making a longer lineset for marginal winds, from say Cyclone Pro-Line / Dyneema or similar, and one want them thin, what would be a reasonable strength to aim for ? I was thinking 170 kg front lines, and 100 kg for rear lin...

Re: Bracuru Hover board - Excellent !

I have been of the opinion that board is irrelevant. Once flying you could be on a cafeteria tray. But now that I'm trying a wakeskate with nearly no flotation I can confirm board matters in light wind.....I've had my wakeskate submerged knee deep trying to get going. I think a stubby wide board wo...

Re: Groove Skate

Does any one know if there is a adaptor so I could use my ketos foil with the grove board please? Yes there is, nice to have so any 90x165 mm attachment board can be used: https://www.ketos-foil.com/en/foil-kf-box/108-kf-box-out.html The Groove Skate looks awesome, wide light and volume and scoop :...
