Re: 3D printing of kite plastic parts: low friction sliding ring

Re: 3D printing of kite plastic parts: low friction sliding ring

... Yeah, it's going to scrape the hell out of the rope with that dumb lettering and grove embossed in it. This makes me not want to buy any kind of Dynabar products ever, because if he's doing something as stupid as making texture in a "No friction" ring then imagine what else he's doing in any ...

Ride Engine harness bar question

... got an RE harness- the 2017 model. They recommend and sent a 10" steel spreader for a medium harness but it looks short and it is compared to the Dynabar sprwader it replaces. The 12" looks to be the better choice especially for riding toe-side in surf. Anyone using the 12" with med harness? Also ...

Re: 3D printing of kite plastic parts: low friction sliding ring

... path and, as explained above about random position of the ring, the possibility to have the JAY crossing the rope is 3x5%=15% . If you notice the DYNABAR XC picture there is a circular groove of 0,5mm deep, that means is 100% in the rope path and we had no rope wear or break. Is that right? Well ...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

I was trying Dynabar on foil as well. Spreader bar twice as wide is better. I will give shell harness a try and will apply your concept with extra wide line attachment.

... if you had much more than the typical spreader bar with a sliding line. My experience told my that you don't really need more sliding range than a Dynabar or similar allows. That's against my experience. I foil with a spreader bar twice as wide. It improves my teoside tack angle by at least 5 degree. ...
