Re: Alaia in Romania

Hehe...actually the tail is straight for the time being...after some more tests on the water with a kite, I might make it swallow style ;)

Alaia in Romania

Hi to all the board builders/shapers and riders! Getting stoked by the surfing feeling (I am riding a 6'2" Bamboos F-One surfboard), I started to read more about kite surfboards and soon after I found about Alaia boards. I have read all the info I could find on the internet, struggled to source some...

Re: Newbie Quiver/Gear. Anyone ridden an XR3 and a Lithium?

Tried Airush Lithium 18 m2, Blade Fat Mamma 17 and Core XRLW Riot2 last Friday, in less than 10 knots. With my Spleene X19 and Spleene Monster Door I was more than powered (1-2 meters jumps, upwind without problem). I weight 85 kgs. The Lithium 18 has A LOT of bar pressure. In 8 knots went only down...

Re: speed 4 18m in 9 kt

idiot is who "idiot" says :)) back to the original theme: as I have told you, on our shores, swimmers (adults and kids, especially them) come very close to the kite-riders, sometimes even touching the boards. Keep in mind the buoyancy would be over-passed by the swimmers in most of the cases. But no...

Re: speed 4 18m in 9 kt

Our public beaches are not THAT heavily regulated. Basically any sea-shore 100 meters from the water is public land. Some areas are private managed, some not. Anyway, on crowded beaches we lounch and land in small areas, with a buoys-marked couloir. BUT: swimmers always get into our access zone, by ...

Re: kite and board setup for riding upwind in 7 knots?

I have enjoyed many times lightwind sessions (6-9 knts) with Spleene X19 or Flysurfer Speed3 21 and Spleene MonsterDoor 166x50...it`s a little bit tricky to master ultra-light-winds, especially to go upwind, but it can be done easily when learned! Some guys swear by a surfboard, but I am yet to cont...

Re: Whats your stupid story?

1. On a local lake, some 15 with gusts to 22 knts, onshore....coming to shore, I did a last jump, landed it sweet and then decided to continue the float as close to the beach as possible, not to get mud on my feet (clay...you know how it is on lakes). At minimum depth of water, the suction effect ma...

Why not an F-One Bandit 14m?
For your windrange
& surf is more than what you might want. And goes upwind like on rails ;)
