Re: TAKING A POLL

A definite YES. A used gear shop sounds like a great idea.

Re: Salvage rights

There're probably some beach lawyers who could weigh in on this, but according to Wikipedia, it seems to hinge on whether or not the kite was mislaid, or abandoned. I don't think the kite was mislaid, because it's unlikely the owner intended to put it in a tree. It might be considered abandoned, rip...

Re: Epic Infinity rocked in lightwinds the other day

I measured it deflated and got just over 15m as well. I own this kite and really like it. Demo it if you can.

Re: Switch Kites

How to make it 'better' without talking about 'physics.' 1) Spend a full year on R&D and testing before launch rather than a couple months. 2) Spend a year developing your own production instead of using an existing 'job shop' that makes competitor's kites in the same room in the same way. 3) Design...

Re: Switch Kites

Bill, I love the fact that you're so accessible and answering all of these questions. Best marketing ever! I saw the pics on Facebook. The bar looks really cool. I like the above the bar no-webbing trim setup with what looks like an actual pulley. What a concept, a pulley on the depower. It's about ...

Re: Infinity....I'm a believer!

Whether you like it or hate it, you've got to admit, saying its size is infinity and steadfastly refusing to give its actual size sure gets Dimitri a lot of ink on this forum. I told him once that he's a marketing genius for coming up with the idea. Now I'm not so sure, as I'm constantly being asked...

Apologies to Kite-Aid. I meant to say AirTime. I'll change the post.

Re: Orange Bladders

Sorry to say, but the orange bladders suck big time. They may be lighter, but they're garbage. AirTime says to use a good quality packaging tape (3M), and they're right to an extent. It does stick better than almost anything else, but it doesn't stick very well. Also, it's not flexible, so if the re...

Re: north rebel 16m dropped 2011 & kite sizes

So how is the size of a kite really measured? Is it the actual area of fabric, or is it something called the projected area? I assume the projected area is the area of the noon shadow of an inflated kite. I think some of the mfgs play loose with kite sizes.

Re: surfy feel on a twin tip

My 140 had a couple of delam issues: Waves pushed it into a coral cave where it went through the wash and rinse cycle for about 6-hours before it got spit out. It was really chewed up and delaminated over some 50% of the edge. I took it to a ding-repair place and they laughed at me. I thought what t...
