Re: North Kiteboarding Issue 11/2017 - Foil

Looks good. Let's hope the reality matches the hype. The fact that North has taken their time coming to market with this means a lot IMHO. Ken Winner has given us some really great innovations over the years.

Re: Kite choices for foiling in high winds ?

What about the stability of a small single strut vs a similar sized three strut. Would the single strut do a lot more flapping and be less stable? An Ozone Reo vs a Cloud (no strut), as complete opposites, for example in stormy conditions.

Kite choices for foiling in high winds ?

There is a fair amount of discussion about finding the right kite for foiling in light air but I am wondering what works best in higher winds. Winds where you would normally be using a 6 or 7m kite which for me would usually be 25 knots or better. Some say you should use a kite with multiple struts ...

Re: Leash...enemy of the foiler?

..not to take this thread even further sideways... ... if I end up flying an edge maybe I'll want the race bar! And there essentially is the difference. If you use a higher performance kite, by that I mean higher aspect and flying further upwind, and therefore likely creating way more apparent wind ...

Re: Modern wave kite

I recently rode an Airush Wave 7m and really liked it, light, good power for its size, easy relaunch, fast turn with steady pull and good drifting capability. Too bad I had to give it back..
