Re: Ocean Rodeo 2012

How well powerwed are you on your 8m in 15mph Tommeltot? I'm not convinced that you need a 10m at all unless you want to go out overpowered a lot. The 11m Rise has been my big kite at 75-80 kgs for the last 2 years and served me well. For me kiting is considered at 15mph. Above that I want to pullin...

Re: Ocean Rodeo 2012

All this is making the decision even harder now. NooNoo, tell me how long you have been riding, what you have now, what you are good at and what you want to be good at next year and I'll try to help Hello GhostDog. I've been kiting on water for 4 years (where's that time gone! :o ) and pretty much ...

Re: Ocean Rodeo raises the bar to a whole new level

No reply? I'm not badgering. I honestly want to know. I really like the OR bars, but I have moved on to others with a center line safety that connects below the bar. Have you now added this? Or is it something else? Trying to figure out whether I would want to move back to the OR bar or not. The 20...

Re: Something your instructor never shows you...(save your life)

My 2p worth. Launching 1. Depower the kite on the strap a little 2. Attach leash first then hook in. I think it might be better to attach leash when kite is in the air. Depending on your bar, attach the leash when the kite is in the air is not always possible/easy. But generally, I do not think tha...

Re: Something your instructor never shows you...(save your life)

My 2p worth. Launching 1. Depower the kite on the strap a little 2. Attach leash first then hook in. Landing As Toby suggests. Unhook first then leash. general When coming onto land or have just launched keep the kite low. Not at the zenith. IMO it gives you time to pull the safety if the kite colla...

Re: 2010 Ocean Rodeo Rise Venturi XPD

Terrytwist...I get the feeling that OR does not want to be Cabrihna or Naish or if they do they will do it their way. Keep up the good work OR. :thumb: that's it - spot on. They have their own company ideas and philosophies and are very much doing it that way. In some ways it's a fresh approach whi...

Re: 2010 Ocean Rodeo Rise Venturi XPD

I think part of the answer is you need to try one. OR are doing good things, doing them correctly too. They have good products and basically work at improving them year on year. Add in a bit of innovation and uniqueness (Mako boards) and things are good. The gear has an awesome build quality and mos...

Re: 2006 caution answer question.

Cant answer exactly. I have the 16m and I think that bar is 50cm 55cm at most. These babies turn fast. So I'm guessing 40 - 45cm would be about right.
