Re: Anybody have feet problems?

I get a little foot pain but not as much as you. It's not a significant problem because I mix strapped and strapless riding. Think about it if you aren't already doing it. Actually I get a little bit when I'm strapless as well because I'll still be trying to grip with my feet but you can just focus ...

Re: Pros and Cons of learning strapless

How do you position the strapless foil board in the water for starting, i.e., if I want to go right, do I hold the bar with the right hand, and board at 45degrees with the left? or, leave the board in the water, push with the feet (like starting strapless surfboard), and both hands on the bar?? I'v...

Re: Pros and Cons of learning strapless

I learned strapless, I think my progression was about normal speed - feels super slow and then it clicks bit by bit. Me and a friend got foils at the same time, him a strapped LF and me a MHL. We both learned at the same rate. He still goes into the water to switch stance though. One thing I didn't ...

Re: First Kite Factory in Europe

I'd think this factory change and the cost of importing from Europe will make them one of those "unobtanium" brands and completely price them out of the market especially here in the US. All the other brands are also getting wicked expensive, for instance a 10m 2017 Cabrinha switchblade is MSRP $16...

Re: Do you use any other light wind boards once you start hydrofoiling?

Yes, I use most of my boards instead of the foil. I don't like the feeling of riding above the water. I feel disconnected and it's too quiet. That's interesting, I wonder how many people are going to stall out in their enjoyment of foiling. PF keeps saying that it's a different sport and he's right...

Re: Do you use any other light wind boards once you start hydrofoiling?

my overall sensitivity is tuned to balance the foil. I spent much less time riding the SB as inefficiently as I used to. My board trim and hence overall smooth factor was way up because of my foil skills. That's funny, same here, I'm upwinding with smaller kites than other guys on the beach this ye...

Re: Do you use any other light wind boards once you start hydrofoiling?

I think theres 3 types of people in regard to this. The specialist: - The guy that specializes in one style for years and years. Example Toby. The progressors:- Guys that progress to a point get bored, try a new style then never go back to old style. EG Peter Frank. The generalist:- Dudes that like...

Re: Impact on performance - position of the front lines bridle along the leading edge

Kind of quiet out there - so much hubbub on all kinds of silly subjects, can't believe no one has weighed in. I'll tell you what I know just to keep the thread visible and hope for someone to correct me. I have two kites with adjustment points, the labels on one say that moving towards the center of...
