Re: Why winging is better than kiteboarding

I started this topic not because I propose that winging is better than kiteboarding (I do both). In fact I expect that chatGPT could do a another essay on "why kiteboarding is better than winging". I was just impressed by ChatGPT writing a coherent short essay. It got a couple of things wrong but th...

Re: "how to learn kiteboarding" by AI

A kiteboarder went out to sea,
To feel the wind rush past with glee,
With board at his feet,
And kite in the heat,
He soared above waves, wild and free!

Why winging is better than kiteboarding

Firstly, winging allows for greater versatility in terms of wind conditions. Unlike kiteboarding, which requires consistent and strong winds to maintain speed and stay in the air, winging can be done in light winds, making it ideal for calm days when kiteboarding is not possible. Additionally, wingi...

Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

I see the T1 monowing as a great new product designed to fit on many existing hydrofoil masts. It clearly does not have the strongest mast-fuselage connection but it seems to work for most of us. There are stronger systems like the Go Foil, Armstrong or Lift mast-fuselage connections, but you cannot...

Have you thought about trying contact lenses? I used to wear glasses, but when I started windsurfing back in the 90's I switched to contacts with Sea Specs.
Agreed. Daily wear contact lenses are cheap and work great. I only wear them on the water.. usually with Seaspec sunglasses.

Re: First wingfoil board

Myself and several of my friends all learned on a 94 liter board just fine.. but we were all experienced with kiting hydrofoil boards. I weigh 74 kg.
I am now riding a 80 liter board and happy.

Re: Why are my screws getting stripped?

You can certainly replace your screws. Be sure to get aircraft grade screws which have writing on them. There are lessor grades of stainless steel screws available but I would avoid them. Here are the screws that came with my new Lift hydrofoil. These are hex head which is fine but Torx head are per...

Re: Why are my screws getting stripped?

Also be sure your screws are long enough. They should penetrate several complete turns (at least 6 mm) into the fuselage. The farther they screw in, the less likely you are to strip them.
