JPK, can you describe why/how the battens broke? Was it a crash? Zeev, I bought a new Vegas, remember I was talking about buying your black and pink 16... thanks anyway!

Waffles... any relaunch hints. Heard about the 5th line cutting a kite in half when it rolls over and wraps the 5th line around it self, but I guess it is rare. SS came up with the Wave Grenade to prevent that. Opinions vary on low end, so people/dealers say it is weak, others, like myself (owner no...

Have flown my 12 REBEL for about 3 hours now. Seems very stable, smooth and powerful using a NAISH SHIFT 5 line bar. Don't feel the gusts and I ride in VERY gusty conditions. No inversions (yet). So far no bad habits. Have not dropped it so can't comment on relaunch but will on purpose the next sess...

Just got a 12. Super easy to fly for an intermediate kiter, will progress quickly with it. Weigh 185#. Seems like I get going easily in 13 knots, maybe less with a WLF 140x45. Haven't hit the top end yet. I agree, at your weight, get the 12!

.... If you have to bring just two, bring the 9 and 12. You can always demo something from one of the shops if it is really light. At your weight, the 12 may be all you need. Good winds.

I believe JL had a bad run of fins, hence the loosening problem. REAL replaced my buddies fins no questions asked and he no longer has the problem. I have a 2005 133 model III and have has no strap or fin problems. Paint job easily scratches and chips though.

Find the REBEL 12 gets my 185# butt up and flying with a larger board in I think 13 knots. Top end out there. Trying to decide if third kite (big kite is 16 Vegas) should be a 7 REBEL? Ride mainly really gusty conditions where range is important. Anyone in the same boat?

I can't believe the water was that cold in May. I've been there as late as early December. The ocean will stay warmer than the Sound. Doubt the Sound drops much below 58 or so in early December. Check with one of the shops or maybe someone local will post. Canadians probably think it is toasty!

Ditto on that Hiero. Don't foget the Village Grocer in "downtown Avon". Charlie, the kite repair guy, makes an awesome sushi they sell there and the fresh fish and meats can't be beat. Bring booze, expensive in NC. Air Tran flies into Newport News and their flights are CHEAP. Go online. been there, ...
