Re: Kite durability - do kites last longer than 2 years?

Weight is a big issue.
Designs are improving quickly.
In my experience Flysurfers can easily last 2 yrs with heavy use (e.g. 100-150 2-4h sessions a year).

I kind of hope the old troll will still be hyperlinking this post in 2014.

Re: My Foil Kite Sunk!

I didn’t really want this to become a brand bashing thread but let’s just say it is probably one of the most relaunchable kites out there with a custom bridle modified by me. I could have considered untangling the bridle and drift launching it in flat water as I have done in the past but not saf...

My Foil Kite Sunk!

Well after hundreds of successful and often times improbable water relaunches I lost my 5 meter foil kite to a wave. The kite luffed and bowtied so I sat there 3/4 mi from shore waiting patiently for it to sort itself out as it always has done but it never happened. Finally I gave up and started wra...

For many fixed bridle foils you put the front lines on th...

Re: www.gokiting.com(SeattleKiteboardingCenter)-BAD experience!

I couldn't disagree more. The retailer should be thinking about what his poor customer service practices will do to his way of life. Its his bad, not Windbreakers. After multiple attempts to contact the seller thorough proper channels Wind Breaker is stepping up and giving us a heads up so we all do...

Re: Paraloc Lines

Paraloc Shark (vectran/technora) is awesome in the chicken loop and in camcleats and it nearly indestructable. One problem is knots can slip and I have had a bowline come undone. Now I tie an extra overhand knot in the bitter end to keep it from slipping. I have tried Stingray (all dyneema) for pull...

Re: The ideal light wind kite

The bigger video on your site shows a lot of whitecaps both near and far from shore so you may want to resize it to thumbnail size like the two smaller videos so nobody will question the integrity of your windmeter. Below is what I would consider strong evidence for a lightwind kitesurfing. I cut th...

Re: Anyone going to South Padre-Issues!!

Sometimes a bunch of surfers line up near the second pavillion near where everybody launches. Even then you should really only need to pass by them once and cruise on downwind. Its tempting to ride up by the jetties because it is easier to stay upwind, until you realize a cab ride is only $5.00 for ...
